EDITORIAL
Die Alte Münze
ist ein ehemaliges Münzprägewerk in Berlin-Mitte am Ufer der Spree, an dem ein Ort für Kunst- und Kulturschaffende, junge Kreative, die Stadtgesellschaft und alle Interessierte geschaffen wurde. Das historische Gebäudeensemble bietet Raum für diverse Veranstaltungsformate, aber auch für Ateliers und Studios unterschiedlicher künstlerischer Ausdrucksformen.
Die Alte Münze ist ein stetig wachsendes Zuhause einer interdisziplinären Gemeinschaft und steht für zukunftsgerichtete Umnutzung historischer Stadträume sowie eine diverse Stadtgesellschaft, die ein solidarisches Miteinander zwischen unterschiedlichen Projekten mit verschiedenen Ansprüchen und Voraussetzungen ermöglicht.

3. November – 30. November
From November 3 to 30, 2026, Time melts even concrete presents a solo exhibition of screen prints at GATE TO in the courtyard of Alte Münze Berlin. Inspired by an Arabic proverb, the exhibition pays tribute to disappearing architectural landmarks, focusing on the Hôtel du Lac in Tunis, a brutalist icon designed by Raffaele Contigiani in the 1970s. Through screen printing, the project explores architecture, collective memory, and the fragility of structures once thought permanent. Join us for the opening on November 6, from 5 to 8 pm.
