Europe’s biggest festival on design and craft of film, animation and games is returning to Alte Münze in Berlin. The Art Department is a 2-day fest where the love for craftsmanship prevails and a place where the industry gathers and new talent unfolds itself.

 The carefully curated program highlights every aspect of the creative process, showcasing all angles of craftsmanship and design for film, animation and games.

Think artist talks by artists such as Superani artist Peter Han (UK), Balder’s Gate 3 game studio Larian Studios (B), creature animator for Horizon Forbidden West Peer Lemmers (NL) Toy Story 3, Bolt, the Ice Age Franchise art director and production designer Ty Carter (USA), 9BCollective (USA) – the first black-owned concept art studio made up primarily of BIPOC artists, CD PROJEKT RED (PL), known for The Witcher series of games and Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.

Also joining are concept artists and character designers Iris Compiet (NL) and Loish (NL) unfiltered conversation about their artistic journeys and careers.

Besides inspiring artist talks there is a full package of side program showcasing industry trends and offering recruitment options.
